Combat Troupes

NEW BURST.png

A historical reenactment gone wild where participants dress up as medieval knights, realize their childhood dreams of hitting things with swords, and then discover that full metal armor doesn't make you invincible, just slightly less prone to immediate death. Essentially, it's a slightly safer version of "holding my beer and watching this." They asked if we had insurance and how long an ambulance took to get to the fairgrounds...we decied to invite them anyway.

Finding swordplay in Michigan might seem impossible, but that's why we always included A2S in our line-up. A2S was founded in 1977, possibly by time-traveling musketeers, with a competitive spirit that was only slightly less fierce than dedication to awesome mustaches (and history and theater, of course). A2S provides a safe place to play and not be accidentally impaled by a historical fact. They are a little bit obsessed with the 'way of the sword,' and they love to share that knowledge.
